Obituary
Lorraine (Willett) McCormick, 84, a longtime resident of W. Springfield and recent resident of Newmarket, NH, passed away of COVID-19 on Dec. 22, 2020 at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH. She was born in Torrington, CT on May 13, 1936 to the late Eugene and Alice (Morency) Willett. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Lorraine held various secretarial roles in her lifetime, but her role as a caregiver brought her the greatest joy. She was very frugal, creative, and talented which were best illustrated in her sewing and crocheting skills, making new clothes and mending old ones. She loved the beach, playing cards, dancing, 50’s music and crossword puzzles. Beloved widow of the late Paul McCormick (1990), loving mother of Karen McLaughlin and her husband Timothy of Newmarket, NH, Joanne Currier and her husband David of York Beach, ME, Lynne Ferrari and her husband Scott of Farmington, ME, Lori Jorgens and her husband Bruce of York, ME, and Paul (PJ) McCormick and his wife Julie of Westfield, devoted grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 1, caring sister of Louise Wright and her husband Thomas of Longmeadow. Besides her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her two brothers, Roland and Daniel Willett. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield followed by a burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours. Online condolences may be left at www.toomeyobrien.com . Arrangements are by the Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the N.H.
