Lucille O. (Robidoux) Baum

West Springfield � Lucille O. Baum, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 20th�at Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home. Lucille was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and was born to the late Edmond and Orise Robidoux, September 10, 1931. She was a Navy veteran of the Korean War�who was stationed in Corpus Cristi,�Texas where she met her husband, the late Robert Baum. She was an active�member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She will always be remembered for her lovely smile and ready laugh, gregarious nature, and all the beautiful hand-knitted afghans and baby blankets she's passed on to her family and friends. She loved books and visiting the West Springfield library and her only disappointment was she did�not live to see the new library completed. She also loved nature and animals which is a trait she passed down to all her children and grandchildren. She is the beloved mother to David R. Baum of West Springfield, Kathleen M. Azzi and her husband, Anthony, of Raleigh, NC, and to the late Gerald S. Baum(2007) and his wife Tracy of Torrance, CA. She was the caring sister to Edmond Robidoux and Annette Hutchinson of West Springfield. She was the cherished grandmother to Nicole Stewart and her husband, Les, of Raleigh, NC, and Sara Steffen and her husband, Brent, also of Raleigh, NC. She was the devoted great-grandmother to Liza Rose and Evan Baum Stewart.�Lucille�s funeral service was held at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Memorial donations may be made in Lucille�s name to the West Springfield Library, 511 Main St., West Springfield, MA 01089, for the purchase of books. Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
