Lyle R Benoit

Lyle R. (Neddo) Benoit, 90, passed away February 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Barre, Vermont, February 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Albert and Meryl (Eastman) Neddo. She lived most of her life in West Springfield until moving with her husband of 43 years, Robert E. Benoit, to Providence Place at Ingleside in 2019. Lyle was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church where she was an organist for many years. Lyle enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, country music and flower gardening but her true joy and special talent was quilting. She was a member of the Pioneer Valley Quilt Guild. She made countless quilts, large and small, which were enjoyed by family and friends. Lyle quilted and donated bibs to Bethlehem House of Western Mass. She leaves her devoted husband Robert, her children Debbie and Dan Carroll of West Springfield, MA, Bruce and Nancy Demers of Bradford, VT, Cheryl Pappas of West Springfield, MA, Ryan Eastman of Bernardston, MA, and Craig Demers of Springfield, MA, as well as her step-children David and Diane Benoit of Ashland, MA, Anne Depelteau of Chicopee, MA, Louise Benoit and Pam Liebro of Westfield, MA, Chuck and Jeannine Benoit of Wilmington, NC, Jeanne Bonnett of Springfield, MA, Dan and Carol Benoit of Bernardston, MA, and Robert Benoit of Westfield, MA. Lyle‘s extended family included 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday February 22, 2023 at 11AM at St. Thomas Church 47 Pine St. West Springfield with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. A calling hour will be Wednesday from 9:30-10:30AM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield.
