Margaret “Peg” M. (McGrath) Ashe, 82, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully on August 1 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Holyoke, June 27, 1938, to the late George and Grace (Bresnahan) McGrath, Peg was a graduate of Holyoke High School and was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She worked for AT&T for 25 years, Baystate Medical Center as a medical transcriber and at Olson Nursing. She leaves her beloved husband, Thomas J. Ashe; her beloved sons, Thomas J. Jr. of West Springfield, Michael F. and his wife Natasha of Framingham, and Brian P. and his wife Karen of Grafton; her beloved siblings, Thomas McGrath and wife Linda of Chicopee and Marilyn Coates and husband Dennis of Chicopee; and her beloved grandchildren, Catherine, Alexandra, Caroline and Brendan, along with her nieces and nephew. The funeral mass will be held WEDS 11 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA. Burial will be private at the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Baystate Home Health-Hospice @ Baystatehealth.org in recognition of the kindness and compassion provided by the Wesson4 and Hospice staff.
