Margaret “Peggy” Anne Robillard, 73, passed away at home on July 27th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, MA, on February 4, 1951, Peggy was the daughter of the late William and Louise Calnen. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and earned a BSN from Saint Anselm College and Master’s Degree in Education from Westfield State College. Peggy served over 40 years at Baystate Medical Center in both clinical and administrative roles. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Springfield.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Peter Charles Robillard, and brother William T. Calnen. She is survived by her three daughters, Kristin Robillard and Andrea Brooks of Colchester, VT, Meredith and husband Daniel Snider of Hoboken, NJ, and their children; Claire and Jenna, and Andrea and husband Matthew Bohr of Basking Ridge, NJ, and their children; Alexander and Sophie. She is also survived by her two sisters, Sue and Roger Landry of Agawam, MA, and Marianne Calnen of Portland, CT and sister-in-law Jean Calnen of Springfield, MA. She is survived by her siblings-in-law, Sister Paula Robillard, SSJ, Cindy and Ray Smith, Gail Bordua, Maryellen and Michael Caron, Tina and Ted Ryan, and David and Donna Robillard. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Peggy’s grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished spending time with family and friends and taking family vacations each summer and winter. Peggy was known for her generosity, and for her love of travel, reading, cooking, good food and wine, and Clemson football.
Calling hours for Peggy will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 4-7PM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Peggy’s Funeral Services will be Thursday at 10AM at Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield. A Committal Ceremony will follow at the St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, 420 Kings Highway, West Springfield.
