Marie P. (Carey) Donovan

Marie Patricia (Carey) Donovan 93, passed away Thursday at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL with her children by her side. She was born in Springfield to the late Delia (Culligan) and Patrick Carey who were both born in Ireland. Marie worked for the former New England Telephone as a billing clerk. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in W. Springfield. She was a former member of Our Lady of Hope Women�s Guild. Marie enjoyed traveling, going to Ireland over 20 times to visit her family. She also traveled to the Holy Land, Italy, Germany, and Medjugorje. Marie was the beloved widow of Jeremiah F. Donovan who passed away last year, she was the loving mother of Jeremiah F. Donovan of W. Spfld, Maureen A. Clough and her husband John of North Eastham, Patricia A. Kendzierski and her husband John of W. Spfld., Anne C. Donovan of Virginia Beach, VA, Daniel E. Donovan and his wife, Beth of Springfield and James M. Donovan and his companion Corinne Gorman of Leominister, devoted grandmother of Patrick Corrigan, Sarah Butler, Lauren and John Kendzierski, Jr., Cathleen Didonato, Addie Carabetta, James Donovan, Jr., Caitlin Donovan, Matthew Donovan, Kevin Donovan and Samantha Donovan, great grandmother of eight, and she leaves 29 cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nine siblings, Francis Carey, Joseph Carey, Thomas Carey, Kevin �Mike� Carey, William �Buddy� Carey, Helen Hadley, Agnes Carey, Margaret Sheehan, and Kathleen Moriarty. Funeral services will be 9AM Friday at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
