Obituary
Marilyn (Houghton) Cass, 86, died peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of the late Carl S. and Marian P. Houghton. Predeceased by her dear, husband Bill (William R. Cass) in 2006, shortly after their 50th wedding anniversary, and by their cherished daughter Beverly Jean Cass in 1999. Also predeceased by brothers Alan C. Houghton and James P. Houghton.

Marilyn is survived by daughter Julie (Ed) Rebitch of Delmont PA, son Bill (Gretchen) Cass of Southwick, and grandchildren Matt and Sarah Rebitch and Alyssa and Andrea Cass. Also survived by daughter Jennifer (Ben) Markens, granddaughter Beth Markens, sister-in-law Jeanne (Alan C.) Houghton of Southbridge, and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marilyn devoted herself to raising her children and was an active member of the Greater Springfield community. Past president of the StageWest Theatre Guild. Past member of the StageWest Board of Directors. Life member of the Women’s Symphony League. Past president of the Ramapogue Women’s Club of West Springfield. Member of Mittineague Congregational Church in West Springfield where she served on several church boards and in the Women’s Guild. Member of the Leadership Committee for the Centennial Year of the Tunxis Club in Tolland, where she and Bill spent many happy years.

Committal service and interment were private.
