Obituary
West Springfield – Marion Francis Newell, 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday at the Julian Leavitt Family Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Marion was born in Springfield on July 15, 1928, to the late Patrick and Margaret (Sullivan) Lynch. Marion was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. She enjoyed many summers at Cape Cod with her family. Marion was a New York City Rockette, while she lived in New York City. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Newell in 1996. She is survived by her loving sons, Kevin Newell and his wife Jennifer of Johns Creek, GA, Michael Newell and his wife Sylvia of Medway, MA, Phillip Newell of Taiwan, and Christopher Newell of West Hartford, CT. She was the cherished grandmother to Mikaela, Sean, Alexander, Rachel and Andrew. She will be dearly missed by her cousins Jack Sheehan, Eleanor Cummings and to all who knew her. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, April 24th at 11:00am, at St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Highway, West Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association. TOOMEY-O’BRIEN Funeral Home is assisting the family with all arrangements.
