Obituary
Marion Ranstrom, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday at Wingate in West Springfield. Marion was born January 5, 1927 in Belmont to the late Charles and Anne (Batton) Macaulay. Marion grew up in Boston and attended Sargent College. She moved to West Springfield in 1968. She worked for the West Springfield Library for many years before she retired. She loved to read, watch sports and most of all, she loved her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack Ranstrom in 1999 and her brother-in-law Michael McCarthy. She is survived by her children James Ranstrom and his wife Anne of Texas, Barry Ranstrom and his wife Rosemary of Feeding Hills, and Nancy Sheridan and her husband Thomas of West Springfield. She was the cherished Grammie to Ken, Tom, Leif, Regina, Erik, Timmy, Caitlin, Shelley and Michael, and great Grammie to Grace, Sadie and Penelope. The family would like to thank the staff at Wingate of West Springfield, especially Judy, Donna and Maria for their kind, care and compassion. Per the request of the family the funeral and burial for Marion will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Marion’s name to the Salvation Army, 170 Pearl Street, Springifield, MA 01105.
