Obituary
Marisa (Tonini) Manning, 96, of West Springfield passed away February 2, 2022 at Heritage Hall North in Agawam. Born in Bologna, Italy, July 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Gianna (Ducci) Tonini. Marisa was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years Robert Manning and her loving daughter Elizabeth Stevens. Marisa worked at the Smith and Wesson Company in Springfield for many years and most recently at Costco in West Springfield. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Marisa was a compassionate and caring person always willing to help others. She also had a deep love of all animals. She enjoyed traveling, bingo and trips to the casino. She leaves her devoted daughter, Shirley Pacosa and her husband Walter of West Springfield, her son in law Larry Stevens, her loving grandchildren, Tony and his wife Pam, Teresa and her husband Adam, Lauren and Evan. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Benson and Brielle, her beloved twin sister Franca Tonini of Florence, Italy and many cherished nephews, nieces, family and friends in Italy and the United States. Marisa’s family would like to give a special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Heritage Hall North for all their care and compassion. All services are private and the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105.
