Marjorie C. Beggetta

Longtime West Springfield resident, Marjorie C. Beggetta, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Bear Mountain Nursing Center. She was born in Chicopee on March 4, 1930 to the late Jessie and Rose (Jasmin) Green. She worked as a seamstress for the former Rainbow Girl Coat Co. of Springfield for 32 years, until her retirement in 1978. She was an excellent seamstress. Among the clothes she made were wedding gowns, business attire and square dance outfits for herself and her husband. They loved to dance. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also predeceased by her husband Dominic Beggetta and her sister Barbara Green. She leaves her nieces; Beverly Castonguay, Jeanne Udas (Richard) and Catherine Beggetta-Bryant (Leonard) and several grand nieces and nephews. Marjorie’s Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 43 Pine St., West Springfield, MA 01089.
