1947-2022
Holyoke- Martha Anne (Cascella) Smith, 74, of Vadnais Street passed away Tuesday at home. She was born in Springfield and grew up and spent most of her life in West Springfield. She was a 1965 graduate of West Springfield High School. She worked as a Hostess for the Peter Pan Bus Lines and their bus tours. Prior to that Martha worked as a Counselor at the Holyoke Detox Center. She was active in WW II Reenactments. She traveled all over and annually would visit Pennsylvania to reenact The Battle of the Bulge. She also was an avid knitter and specialized in creating old and historic patterns. She was the loving wife of Peter Most, beloved mother of Jeffery Fowler of Holyoke and Jeremy Fowler and his companion Terri Pajak of Easthampton caring stepmother of Patricia Rodriguez of Three Rivers, Jennifer Olson of Ashaway, RI, Luke Most of Lebanon, NH, and Peter Most of Greenfield, MA, devoted grandmother of 8 and cherished sister of Michael Cascella. There will be a Celebration of Life Service scheduled at a later date. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu flowers donations in Martha’s name may be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse Assn. and Hospice, 280 Chestnut Street, 6th Floor, Springfield, MA 01199.
