Obituary
Martin D. Methe, 88, passed away Weds. Nov. 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 20, 1930 to the late Adelard and Anna Methe. Martin proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a plumber in the area for many years and also worked for Richards Plumbing in Easthampton. Martin was a member of the American Legion in Easthampton. He was a good, kind loving man who enjoyed camping, family vacations and Florida, where he spent the last 22 winters with his wife Doris. Martin was a communicant of St. Peter and Casimir Church. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he also enjoyed feeding his birds. He leaves his wife Doris (Pothier) Methe, his children; Norman Methe and his wife Charlotte of Barre, MA., Ann Fitzpatrick and her husband Randy Fitzpatrick of Westfield and Steven Methe and his wife Kristin of Palmer, his 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Martin was predeceased by his 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be held TUES 10:15 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., followed by an 11:30 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Peter and St. Casimir Church, 24 State St., Westfield. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling Hours will be held MON from 4 to 7 PM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Spfld, MA 01104 or to the 90 Mile March, P.O. Box 1111, Chicopee, MA 01021
