Mary F. (Collins) Buffum

Mary F. (Collins) Buffum, 91, passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, October 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Florence (Shay) Collins. Mary lived her entire life in West Springfield and worked as an executive secretary and chief bookkeeper for the Steiger�s Company for 10 years. She was a communicant of St Thomas Church. She leaves her beloved husband of 65 years, Brainerd J. Buffum, her children, James T. of West Springfield, John M. and his wife Susan of Westfield, Ann E. LaPierre of West Springfield and Mary P. Buffum of Holyoke, her grandchildren, Luc Remillard, Briana LaPierre and Kelly Buffum. Mary was predeceased by her brother, James M. Collins who died in 2015. The funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11am from the St Thomas Church with calling hours from 9:30-10:30 at the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield, followed by burial in St Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the West Springfield Senior Center, 128 Park St., West Springfield, MA 01089.
