Mary J. (Giannetti) Gentile

West Springfield � Mary J. (Giannetti) Gentile, 93, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was born in Springfield, January 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Antonio and Angela Maria (Funaro) Giannetti. Mary retired from the United States Postal Service after 25 years. She was a long time communicant of St. Ann�s Church, where she and her sisters were active volunteers and participants in church activities. Mary enjoyed many hobbies including drawing and watching the Red Sox. She was a lover of animals and was a great Italian cook and baker. Mary was dedicated to her family and especially enjoyed following her grandchildren�s sports and activities. She will be greatly missed everyday by all of us who loved her. She is survived by her sons, Mark and his wife Cathy of Scituate, MA, Tom and his wife Cathy of New Port Richey, FL, her four grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Nina and Neil, long-time close friend Al Weaver, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Antoinette Longo, Theresa Veneroni, Pasqualina (Pat) Tenerowicz and her brother, Stephen Giannetti. The funeral will be Tuesday, 8AM from the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld, followed by a 9AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
