Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Malone Regan, 30, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Patrick; her newborn daughter, Eleanor Kate; her parents William and Elizabeth (Garvey) Malone of Westfield; and her sister, Kathryn Malone of Northampton. Mary also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a circle of cherished friends.
Mary was born in Springfield on May 20, 1992. She graduated from Agawam High School in 2010 and for many years, she was a devoted nanny to Andrew, Dominic, Joseph, and Elizabeth. She returned to school at Springfield Technical Community College to pursue her nursing degree and became a Registered Nurse in 2021. She worked for a time as a staff nurse at Baystate Medical Center.
Mary had a radiant smile and a generous spirit. She was known among friends and family for her compassion, thoughtful intelligence, quick wit, and her ability to find an appropriate quote from a movie or sitcom for any situation. In Patrick, Mary found the person she truly loved and they meant everything to each other.
Calling hours will be from noon to 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, MA. There will a celebration of Mary’s life scheduled in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Eleanor Kate Regan Child Care Fund c/o Westfield Bank, 206 Park Street, West Springfield, MA 01089.
