West Springfield- Mary Jane (LaVecchia) Marceno, 94, formerly of Gooseberry Road passed away on June 12 at her home in Agawam MA. She was born in Willimantic, CT on September 1st, 1920 to the late Diego and Calogera (Guarneri) LaVecchia. She was raised in Willimantic and graduated from Windham High School. She settled in West Springfield MA in 1954 and lived there most of her life. Mary worked as an Inspector of airplane parts at Pratt and Whitney of East Hartford where she met her devoted husband Vincent S. Marceno Sr. who predeceased her in 1997. She later worked at National Gauge in Agawam where she retired from in 1987. Mary was an avid bowler and card player. She spent many happy hours playing cards at the Dante Club, the West Springfield and Agawam Senior Centers. Mary was an ardent fan of University of Connecticut Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. She was formerly a communicant of St. Ann�s Church in West Springfield and member of the St. Ann society. Mary was loving mother of Vincent S. Marceno Jr. and his wife Dawn of Colchester CT, and Joseph J. Marceno of Cary NC. She was caring sister to Millie Leone, Angie Callie, Rose Calli, Virginia Todd and Josie Harold. "Nana" was loving grandmother of Lena, Erin, Brittani, Joseph, and Camden; she also leaves many dear nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her brother Louis LaVecchia and grandson Kristian Marceno. There will be a Funeral Home Service Tuesday at 12 Noon at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at theMassachusetts Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hrs. will be Monday from 5-7 PM and Tuesday from 10:30 AM � 12 Noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary�s name may be made to the West Springfield Senior Center, 128 Park Street, West Springfield, MA 01089 Agawam Senior Center, 954 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001 or Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts, 1325 Springfield Street, Suite 12, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.
