Waterford, CT, Michael J. D�Angelo, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 20, 2017. Born in Hartford, February 11, 1923 the son of the late Michael A and Filomena (D�Orazio) D�Angelo. Michael worked for the US Government as an administrator in Springfield and assistant Postmaster General in Washington, DC and was head of Research and Development for the US Coast Guard. He was a US Air Force veteran during WWII retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Michael was communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and a member of the VFW, the Dante Aligheri Club the Knights of Columbus and was a talented guitar player. His beloved wife, Rita (Ruggiero) passed away in 2013. He leaves his loving sons, Marc A. and Michael J. Jr. both of West Springfield, his loving granddaughter, Kertasea Booth and his beloved great granddaughter, Lily Booth and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday 8:45am from the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with burial to follow in St. Michaels Cemetery.
