Obituary
Michele “Gobmatz” (DeFalco) Newell, 74, passed away July 30, 2021. She was born Sept 24, 1946 to the late Joseph and Gladys DeFalco. Michele graduated from Agawam High School. She served as the first female president of rotary in Easthampton in 1997-1998. Michele was a paralegal and worked on passing a law against sex offenders and volunteered at CASA of Hampden County. She organized many Poker Runs for Jerry’s Ride. Michele also worked as the district manager at Frederick’s of Hollywood, a property manager and enjoyed riding motorcycles and riding in a convertible with the top down. She was an avid Red Sox and Thunderbird’s fan. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Leonard Newell Sr., her second Gerald Robare son Leonard Newell Jr., and her brother John Rys and sister. Michele leaves her daughter Della-Marie D’Antonio and John Pelland, her grandson Robbie Everson, her niece Christine Fales and her husband Nick, and her stepsons Tim, Randy and Jeff Robare along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service will be held THURSDAY at 10 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., WEST SPRINGFIELD. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
