Nathan Robert Chartier (Nate), 41 of Chicopee passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1982 to his parents Maurice and Sheila Chartier. He was raised in Florence and lived there for 28 years before moving to Chicopee.
Nathan leaves his wife of 10 years, Tarin Chartier, and his beloved children Xavier (23), Ellah (20), and Maxwell (11). He was also the proud stepfather to Caleb (21) and Savanah (17). Nathan loved his children and enjoyed watching Xavier grow and excel playing football, watching Ellah in her dance recitals and trying every sport to find what she loved. He watched Maxwell grow into a creative and imaginative middle schooler while overcoming many challenges through his life. He was proud to watch Caleb become a hard worker, graduate from Holyoke Community College and go into Framingham State University. He loved watching Savanah overcome so much to become the best version of herself so far and he knows she will continue to do that.
Nathan was a hard worker, he had worked at Yankee Hill Machine for many years, but most recently was a personal caretaker to his mother in law, Andrea Wales. He looked at her as his mom and she saw him as her son and loved him very much. He also leaves his best friend from childhood, who he called his brother, Tommy Kellogg and his children Adam and Connor who was his godson. He was also a caretaker for Barbara Kellogg who knew him most of his life and loved him like another son, and her husband Ron Kellogg who was his go to guy for all things electronics related. Nathan considered them all family, including their daughter Amber Kellogg and her spouse Mike and their 3 children.
Additionally, Nathan leaves behind his loving sister Amy Ross, her husband JD and their children, his beautiful niece Bailey Jean and John Robert, his nephew that is so much like him.
He was very close to his sister in law Briana Wales-Thaxton and her husband Vincent and was so proud and honored to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. He was especially close to his sister in law Caleigh, they shared many insider jokes through the years and he was the only person allowed to hug her for many years.
Nathan shared a special bond with his niece Ameena (Mimi, 19) who always stole his hats, made him play My Little Pony for hours, and he jokingly called her his Lego kitty duck sauce. His nephew Maddox loved challenging his Uncle Nate to wrestle him and loved helping him do yard work and build things together. Nathan loved them and was proud of everything they did.
Nathan played hockey in his youth, and enjoyed watching hockey and football. He was a fan of heavy metal music, Star Wars, Marvel movies and he loved gaming. He thoroughly enjoyed yard work, being outdoors, and taking care of his dogs Rudy and Lulu. Nathan will be greatly missed by those that knew him and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
