Obituary
Worcester, Nelson Vila, 60 passed away August 3, 2019. Born in Comerio, P.R. he was the son of the late Santos and Ana (Nieves) Vila. Nelson was a US Army veteran and worked for the Wall St. Journal in Chicopee for many years. He also volunteered at a homeless shelter in Worcester. He leaves his wife, Lesley (Young) Vila, his children, Nathan of Fort Irwin, CA, Nicole and Lauren Vila of West Springfield, his siblings, Will, Santos, Pedro, Danny, Wilson, Emerson, Gilson, Elba, Migdalia and Yolanda and was predeceased by siblings, Angel, Daniel, Marta and Hilda. Many nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday Oct. 8, 2019 at 6PM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield with calling hours from 4-6PM. Burial with military honors will be Wednesday Oct. 9, 2019 at 10AM at the Mass. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
