West Springfield- Nora Louise (O'Neill) Johnson, 90, passed away Tuesday after a brief illness in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in Holyoke, May 14th, 1926, to the late Rose (Coyle) and John O'Neill. Nora was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Holyoke. She was an EKG/EEG Technician at Holyoke Hospital for over 25 years, retiring in 1988. Nora �Louise� was a woman of extraordinary inner strength, faith and love who was completely devoted to her family. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, loved the numerous decades where she enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Goshen. In later years she was delighted to be a member of the West Side Classy Red Hatters, where she proudly served Veterans causes. Nora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent Johnson in 2004. She leaves her loving children, Kathleen A. Ginn, Nora M. Johnson and Lynn M. Johnson all of W. Spfld. and Maureen R. Emerson and her husband Phillip of Chicopee, her adored grandchildren, Vincent and Sean Ginn, Joshua Desrosiers and Blake Emerson. Nora was predeceased by her brothers, Edward J. and Henry J. O'Neill. The funeral will be 9AM Saturday at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St. The burial will follow at Paucatuck Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fidelco, Guide Dog Foundation, 103 Vision Way, Bloomfield, CT 06002 or Baystate VNA & Hospice, c/o Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut St., Floor 6, Springfield, MA 01199-1000.
