Obituary
Norma M. Bovat, 92, passed away Dec 31, 2020. She was born in Ludlow, MA on July 24, 1928 to the late Harry and Sylvia Desrosiers and lived most of her life in West Springfield. Norma graduated from West Springfield High School. She loved to cook and take care of her family. After raising her kids, she went to work as a cook for St. Thomas School. Norma enjoyed going to the casino, bus trips and even went to Disney World. She was predeceased by her husband Linfred A. Bovat Sr., in 2008. Norma leaves her loving children; Linda Lyncosky and her husband Gary of W. Spfld, Steven Bovat and his wife Marie of Westfield, John Bovat of Durham, NH., Donna Bovat of Melvindale, MI., Patricia Kusnierz and her husband James of Belchertown, David Bovat of Spfld., and Linfred Bovat Jr, of Agawam, her grandchildren; Joshua, Deanna and James Kusnierz and Michael Lyncosky, and her great grandchildren; Jackson, Brayden, Jamie, Gary, Michael and Addison. She was also predeceased by her brother Alfred Desrosiers. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held WEDS 10 AM in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Spfld. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held TUES from 4 to 6 PM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation in Norma’s name be made to the St. Thomas School, Development Fund, 75 Pine St., W. Spfld, MA 01089. The family would like to thank the staff at Bear Mountain in West Springfield, especially Unit 3, the Meadows Unit, for the wonderful care and comfort they provided Norma.
