Obituary
Paul Hrycay, 95, of Highland Lane passed away Thurs at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. He was born in Springfield on Aug. 11, 1923 to the late Konstanty and Anna (Fitzlowicz) Hrycay. Paul proudly served the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He worked for years as an Electronic Technician for Valley Communications in Chicopee. He was a longtime member of the Buffalo Athletic and Social Club in Chicopee and belonged to the Widows and Widowers Club. And avid swimmer, he enjoyed gardening and loved dancing. Paul was predeceased by his first wife Janice (Morrison) Hrycay and his second wife Gail (Beecher) Hrycay. He was the loving father of Glenn, Kim, Donald, Robert Ritzman, Paula, Kenneth, William, Kevin and Mark, devoted grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of one, caring brother to Anna. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion and dance partner Jeanne Garon of South Hadley. Calling Hours will be held SUN from 1 to 3 PM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Funeral Services will be held MON at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Paucatuck Cemetery, Sibley Ave., W. Spfld. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01089 or the Alzheimer’s Assn. of MA, 264 Cottage St., Spfld, MA 01104.
