Obituary
Penny Virginia (Givens) Harnish, 77, of Hampden Street passed away on 8/11/20 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Stamford, CT on February 15, 1943 to the late John and Margaret Givens. She worked as a Receiver for Big Y for over 30 years before she retired. After that Penny worked as a lunch monitor for the West Springfield School System. She was predeceased by her son Jeff Harnish in 2007 and her daughter Kellie Simpson in 2014. She leaves her beloved husband Irvine “Hank” Harnish, her loving children Glenn Harnish and his wife Lisa of Agawam, Scott Harnish and his wife Holly of West Springfield, her brother Mark Givens and his wife Elda of South Carolina, her grandchildren Amanda, Shawn, Lindsie, Charlene, Corey, Julia and 4 great grandchildren. All services will be private and Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Penny’s name may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 181 Park Avenue, Suite 12, West Springfield, MA 01089.
