Obituary
Peter M. Dudas, 63, passed away Oct. 21, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born Oct. 24, 1957 to the late Peter D. and Evelyn Dudas. Peter worked for many years as a crane operator for Sullivan’s Scrap Metal. More recently, he was the supervisor at Birchstone.
Peter could be stubborn, was tough as nails, had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and was jack of all trades. He loved cooking, especially with his favorite blues music in the background.
He enjoyed spending time outside. He could be found playing a round of golf, camping, fishing, or looking at the fall foliage with his wife.
He was an avid sports fan. He loved to root for his favorite teams; the Red Sox, Patriots, and especially the bruins. Peter enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years and he continued until his late 40’s. Above all, Peter found the most joy in spending time with his family and grandkids. Peter leaves his loving wife and soulmate, Charlene (Ryan) Dudas, his son Peter Dudas Jr., and his wife Carlene of Russell, his daughters Jessica Buoniconti and her husband Mike of Westfield and Melinda Talbot and her husband Ryan also of Russell, his grandchildren; Antonio Buoniconti, Noah and Gavin Talbot and Carter Dudas, his brother’s; Kenneth Dudas and his wife Diane and Robert Dudas and his wife Rona all of CT, his sister Joelle Bird and her husband Mark of Agawam, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Funeral Service will be held THURSDAY at 10 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Peter’s name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
