West Springfield- Raymond A. Piquette, 88, passed away Friday at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke to the late Arnold and Eva (Girard) Piquette. He was raised in Holyoke and settled in West Springfield in 1956. Raymond was a 1945 graduate of Holyoke High School. He was a bricklayer for most of his life and was a member of the Local #1 Bricklayers Union. Before he retired he worked as a foreman at Fontaine Brothers Construction and Nadeau Construction. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in W. Spfld . He was an avid sports fan and especially loved his Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife, Katharine A. (Ahern) Piquette in 2011. He was the loving father of Christine Goff and her husband Lester of Huntington, Raymond A. Piquette and his wife Pauline of Chicopee, Steven M. Piquette and his wife Ann Marie of Springfield, Nancy M. Cook and her partner Wayne LaFlamme of Granby, MA, Kenneth R. Piquette and his wife Tammy of Chicopee, and Janice M. Jacque and her husband David of Southampton. He was also predeceased by his only brother Herman Piquette and his son Joseph Piquette. He also leaves his 14 devoted grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Vera Piquette and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street. Visitation will be 9-10 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld. The burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer�s Assn., 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
