Rene E. Lamarche

West Springfield- Rene Edward LaMarche, 86, of Wolcott Avenue passed away Monday at Wingate of West Springfield. He was born in Lowell, VT on July 16th, 1928 to the late Arphena (Ruel) and Elphege LaMarche. He lived in West Springfield for most of his life. He worked for years as a barber at Ray�s Barber Shop in Chicopee and he later worked in the Maintenance Department of Westfield State University. Rene was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Rene was predeceased by his loving wife Helen (Dupuis) LaMarche, his three beloved children Rene LaMarche, Gerry LaMarche and Marguerite LaMarche. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Joseph LaMarche and Gloria Poliquin. He was the caring brother of Rita Leduc, brother-in-law to Harold and Mary Dupuis, Raymond Poliquin, and Rosemarie Frappier. He leaves many devoted nieces and nephews, especially Terry O�Malley. Rene also leaves his companion Ellie Hamel, his close friend Betty Foley and her family; Pattie Weiner, Ann Hamel, Bill Sullivan, Kathleen Vetal, Michael Sullivan and their families. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 AM at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1943 Westfield Street, West Springfield followed at 10 AM by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be at the St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hrs. are Wednesday (TODAY) from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
