Richard Durant

West Springfield –Richard “Rick” Durant passed away March 16, 2024 in Holyoke, MA. He was born in Holyoke to Lawrence R. and Noella S. (Poirier) Durant on August 2, 1952. Rick was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and attended local schools. He was a self-employed truck driver. Rick was enthusiastic about cars, and enjoyed amateur auto-racing and even modified his own vehicles, he was also an avid deer and pheasant hunter. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Noella, and his nephew Daniel. He is survived by his brother Robert Durant and sister-in-law Judith Durant, niece Kathryn and great nephew Ryan LaChance and by his friend Carolyn Pike. There will be a memorial visitation from 9-11am on Thursday, April 4 with a funeral service at 11am at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield, committal will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
