Obituary
Richard F. Mooney, 83, passed away October 20, 2021. He was born January 5, 1938 in Holyoke to the late Francis and Alexandria (Zebrowski) Mooney. Richard proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was part of the Navy's operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica. He worked as a mail handler for the US Postal Service in Springfield. He was a long time Nortre Dame football fan, a subway alumni. He leaves his son, Terrence Mooney and daughter, Robyn Picard, his brothers, Frank Mooney and his wife Maura, Thomas Mooney and his wife Joey, James Mooney and his wife Carol, his sister Deborah Fogerty and her husband John, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be on Tuesday, November 2nd at 3:pm at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the charity of one’s choice. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
