Richard Andre Peloquin, 81, passed away Monday at home. He was born in Quebec, Canada on January 31, 1943, to the late Aurore (Lemoine) and Ulric Peloquin. He grew up in Canada and later lived in Blandford, MA before settling in West Springfield. He graduated from LaSalette in Enfield, NH and went on to attend Assumption College for a couple of semesters before choosing to start his own business. He owned and operated Peloquin Construction for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Richard was a true outdoorsman and loved camping and hunting. He enjoyed traveling with his family. Richard was a master carpenter and literally could fix anything and everything. Beloved husband of 56 years to Muriel M. (Therrien) Peloquin, loving father of Eric Peloquin and his longtime companion Tammy Scruggs of TN, Neil Peloquin and his wife Dawn of Westfield, and the late baby Michael Peloquin, devoted grandfather of Andrew, John, Isabella, Neil Jr., and Luke, and great grandfather of Adaline and Blakley. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his five siblings: Jeannine Pilon, Theresa Davis, and Maurice, Marcel, and Monique Peloquin. There will be calling hours on Saturday, Nov 2, from 9:30-11:00 am at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at St. Thomas Church. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield.
