Richard B. "Dick" Skinner, 86, died Monday March 8, 2021. Born in Boston, July 1, 1934, the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Buxton) Skinner. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire moving to West Springfield in 1978. Dick retired as the manager of the Brightwood True Value Hardware Store, after working there for over 56 yrs. He received the Unsung Hero Award from the Longmeadow Club and was a US Army veteran. He was a world traveler, and his favorite vacation was an African Safari in the Serengeti. Dick's beloved partner, Gary Yefko died in 2017. He leaves 3 special people, Mary Ellen Otto of Raynham, David Ketchum of Provincetown and his nurse Karen Krawcynxki. All services are private, and the Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
