Feeding Hills, Rita (St. Hilaire) Rose, 99, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Adams, October 31, 1916, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Paradis) St Hilaire. Rita worked for many years for the Town of Agawam as Town Clerk and as acting Town Manager until 1985. Rita also worked at the Wesson Memorial Hospital in Springfield for 29 years. Rita was a communicant of the former St. Theresa Church where she volunteered for many years, a member of the Lady of St. Anne, the Nocturnal Adoration Society and was a Eucharistic Minister until the age of 92. She received the Pope Pius Award for her work at the church and was a member of the Dominican Laity. Her late husband, Conrad J. Rose passed away in 1984. She leaves her beloved children, Angele Smarse and husband Clarence of West Springfield, Bryan C. Rose and Charlene Martin of Dalton, NH, Michael R. Rose of West Springfield, Judith E. Rose and Tim Bordeaux of West Yarmouth and Cheryl A. Robare and husband Allen of Springfield and the late William F. Rose, her loving siblings, Clement G. St. Hilaire of Adams, Sister Patricia CSC of Watertown, NY, Phyllis M. Kirsch of Watertown, NY, Doris E. Rougeau of Adams and Gabrielle E. Downey of Pittsfield, her 5 loving grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great- grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday, 11am at Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield St., Agawam with a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 at the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. The burial will be in St Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dominican Monastery, 1430 Riverdale Rd., West Springfield.
