Rita A Mahoney

Rita A. (Madden) Mahoney, 84, died June 23, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Nova Scotia Canada, December 4, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Kilvert and Reta (Ellis) Madden. Rita was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and worked for the West Springfield School Department for many years. She was an avid cook and loved her cats very much. She leaves her children, Shirley Gauthier of West Springfield, Tina Mahoney of Westfield and Alan Mahoney and his wife Colleen) of FL, her sister, Sandra Brown and her husband Al of Agawam, her grandchildren, Christina (with whom she lived), Jennifer, Ken, Nina, Amanda, Kayla, Ashley, Jeffrey, Alan Jr, and Daniel, her great grandchildren, Amber Lynn, Mark and Matthew and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert, in 2023. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
