Robert Elwood Decker, 78 years old of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018 in Agawam, MA. Bob worked for Byron Funeral Home in Springfield as a Funeral Assistant for 24 years. Prior to that he worked as an armored car driver for Wells Fargo. After his retirement he worked at Baystate Medical Center as a Respiratory Equipment Technician. He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Rachel (Hewitt) Decker of Westfield, his son retired Master Sgt. Stephen Decker of the United States Air Force and his wife Maria, his son Robert E. Decker II of Westfield and his wife Rebecca, and his daughter Pamela (Decker) McDermott of Agawam, MA. He leaves eight grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Michelle, Philip, John and Nathanael Decker, Corey Decker, Shaina Nash and her husband Daniel Nash, Erin and Shane McDermott and one great granddaughter Sarah Rose Decker. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. All funeral services and burial will be private. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. All are welcome to a Celebration of Life Service at Cornerstone Church at 15 Kibbe Road, East Longmeadow, MA at 4:00 pm on Thursday.
