Obituary
Robert John DeMaio, 58, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Aug. 30, 2019. He was born in Holyoke, MA on November 21, 1960 and raised in the Forest Park section of Springfield. He graduated from Cathedral High School, served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard for four and a half years, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. He leaves behind his wife, Annette (Palange) DeMaio and three children, Dante DeMaio of Natick, MA, Decia DeMaio and her partner Karen Feeley of West Springfield, MA and Vincent DeMaio of West Springfield, MA. He also leaves behind his brother, Donald DeMaio and his wife Trisha of Marrietta, OH, his sister Denise Conroy of Westfield, MA, his sister Anna Laverty of Glenns Fall, NY, a close family friend, Marty Paquette, and his uncle Bob Baribeau and his wife Carol. He also leaves his father-in-law, Vincent Palange and his partner, Lorraine Woods. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John W. DeMaio and his mother Delores C. (Baribeau) DeMaio as well as his nephew, Geno DeMaio. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held WEDS 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 Williams St., Spfld. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Hwy, W. Spfld. Calling Hours will be held TUES from 5 to 8 PM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network®, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
