Obituary
Robert E. Genereux Sr. 79 passed away peacefully Monday August 24th at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield, MA on November 24, 1940 to the late Emile and Helen (Gamble) Genereux. He is survived by his sister Elaine (Genereux) Lafond. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and served in the US Navy. Bob founded and operated Aquatique Pools in West Springfield for many years. Bob loved hunting, fishing and golfing with his partner Randy in the Thursday night Ed Normand Golf League at EMCC. Bob loved attending local car shows in his Roush Mustang. He could be found every morning at Little George’s drinking coffee. He loved his old country music and his fur babies. His annual Winter Sucks party and golf tournaments benefited many local animal shelters for 20+ years. He was predeceased by his wife Norma Gayle (Rowe) in 1970 and Sheila (O’Malley) in 2015. He leaves his loving children, Bob Jr (Jean), Chris (Karen), Michele Strattman (Alby) and Billy (Christina). He leaves his stepdaughters Tammy, Marla, Elissa and Colleen. He leaves his loving grandchildren Carolynn, Bobby III, Jordan, Samantha, Joey, Gianna, Danielle and Christopher as well as his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29th from 1-3 at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St, West Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
