Obituary
Robert W. McNerney, 85, passed away Aug. 26, 2019. He was born on May 18, 1934 to the late James and Mary McNerney. Originally from Chicopee, he spent his adult years in West Springfield with his beloved late wife Elizabeth (Ellis) McNerney, who passed in 2000. Robert was a graduate of Cathedral High, AIC, and Western New England Law School. He was a specialist in the US Army and worked at St. Paul Insurance for many years before retiring. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors and loved his dogs. He leaves his brother Joseph McNerney, sister in-law, Eleanor McNerney, his caring niece Jani McNerney, along with several other nieces and nephews, and Betty's extended family. Bob was also predeceased by six of his siblings. Calling hours will begin FRIDAY at 9 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 10 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Parker St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your local ASPCA
