Ronald A. Bushior

West Springfield, Ronald Anthony Bushior, 66, passed quietly at his home May 24, 2017. Ron was a graduate of Westfield State College and retiree of the Department of Developmental Disabilities. He was a well-known community member, social worker, humanitarian, Yankees fan, drummer, poet, gardener, genealogist, John Lennon fanatic and was enamored with everything counterculture. He had a distinct appearance and memorable personality. Ron valued peace and human rights above all else. He inspired and helped many people that he encountered and will be deeply missed. Ron was predeceased by his father Elwin Bushior, mother Camella (Napolitan) Bushior, aunt Violette (Roy) Bushior and uncle Bernard Bushior. Ron leaves behind his children, Jacob, Celine, Joseph and Elizabeth, as well as his brother Michael and cousin Janet. A memorial service will be held Thursday June 1, 2017 6pm at the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home with calling hours from 4-6. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to either the Appalachian Mountain Club https://www.outdoors.org/get-involved/donate/ or a public advocacy group of your choice.
