Obituary
Ronald L. Crate, 77, passed away Tues Oct 26, 2021. He was born Feb 13, 1944 to the late Harold and Myrtle Crate. Ron was the owner of Centerline Industries in West Springfield for over 40 years. He was a hardworking man, but in his free time fell in love with the Cajun Lifestyle of Louisiana. He often traveled throughout the United States performing Zydeco dancing and attending music festivals where he would meet up with an amazing amount of great friends who shared the love of this music and culture. He leaves his loving children; Michael Crate and his wife Wendy of Punta Gorda, FL., and his daughter Kelly Gourde of Westfield, his grandchildren; John Gourde Jr., Cameron Gourde, Sophia Crate and Ethan Crate, his sisters Geraldine and Jacqueline along with several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his sisters Jean, Barbara and Beverly. A Funeral Service will be held TUES 10 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd., Spfld. Calling Hours will be held MON from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Ron’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105-1942
