Ronald L Gearing

Ronald L. Gearing, 88, passed away November 29, 2025, at the Veteran’s Home in Holyoke. Born in Chatham, NY, May 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Leon and Leta (Kirby) Gearing. Ron was a longtime liquor salesman for the Martignetti Company and other distributers for many years. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran. Ron was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Shaker Farms Country Club, loved hunting and fishing and especially loved traveling with his beloved late wife, Grace. He leaves his beloved son, Ronald “Butch” Gearing II and his wife Terri of Westfield and James and his wife Allison of Westfield, his brother, Kirby and his wife Judy of Agawam, his loving grandchildren, Jennifer Kubic and her husband Eric, Courtney Collins and her husband Blaire, Andrew Gearing and his fiancé Hailey, his beloved great grandchildren, Rylee and Joseph Kubic and Eleanor and Henry Collins. Ron was predeceased by his grandson, Alexander and his brothers, Perry and David. A funeral home service will be held Wednesday 11AM at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with burial to follow in Springfield St Cemetery. Calling hrs are Wednesday 9-11AM. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Veteran’s home in Holyoke for their wonderful care for Ron these last few months.
