West Springfield - Roy Elmer �Buddy� Miller, Jr., 74, of West Springfield, died suddenly Saturday, January 10, 2015. He leaves behind to miss him immensely, his devoted wife of 52 years, Margaret �Peggy� (Wright) Miller. His children, Kristine Sills and her husband Raymond of Feeding Hills, Stephen Miller and his girlfriend Charmaine Joy Ramirez, of West Springfield, Michelle Kelliher and her husband Keith of West Springfield, five grandsons, Christopher and Emily McKenney, Daniel McKenney, Anthony Lee, Hunter Lee, Nathan Lee, and a granddaughter, Rachel Sills. He also leaves his brother, Robert Miller and his wife Gail of East Longmeadow. He will be missed by his friends at the Holyoke Mall whom he had lunch with every day and many more dear family and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann Phillips of Jacksonville, Florida. Roy was born September 28, 1940 in Springfield, MA to Mary and Roy E. Miller Sr. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 aboard the U.S.S. Little Rock. He married his beloved Margaret on November 24, 1962. He worked for New England Telephone in Springfield for 35 years, retiring in 1997. Roy loved hunting, fishing, taking road trip vacations, feeding the deer and turkey that seemed to have taken up permanent residence in the neighborhood, watching sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. His family and friends will miss his sharp wit and humor, his loyalty and his generosity of his knowledge and time, and also his quiet way of just being in the moment. The funeral will be 9AM Friday from the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Liturgy at St. Thomas Church, 65 Pine St. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM.
