Russell P Lafrance

Russell P. LaFrance, 77, passed away July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, August 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Leopold and Yvonne (Gagnon) LaFrance. Russ worked for Verizon for over 32 years. He leaves his loving wife, Katherine “Kathy” (Martelli) LaFrance, his beloved sons, Joseph and his wife Lynn and Keith and his wife Lori both of West Springfield, his loving grandchildren, Sara, Kevin and Kaitlyn, his former daughter in law, Karen. He also leaves his niece, Lynn Mele and nephew, Steven Blaise. He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene Blaise. The family would like to acknowledge the nurses and staff of Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care of Russ during this difficult time. A funeral home service will be Saturday August 9, 2025, at 11:30AM at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with calling hours from 9:30-11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or D’Amour Center for Cancer Care.
