Ruth Hurlbut Cosgrove Jarvis, 76, passed away Aug 20, 2020 surround by her loving family. She was born Nov. 5, 1943 to the late Kenneth and Janet (Benedict) Hurlbut. Ruth was a graduate of West Springfield High School, class of 1961. She worked as a type setter in the area for many years and also worked as a home health care aide and worked at the Monastery until her retirement. Ruth loved her golden doodle Chloe and enjoyed gardening, shopping and skiing in her younger years, She leaves her loving children; Lisa Baurle of Agawam and James Baurle of Rome, NY., her grandchildren, Courtney Baurle, Daniel Dunbar, Cara Grindlay and Colby Grindlay, her brothers Jeffrey Hurlbut and his wife Donna of Westfield and Richard Hurlbut and his wife Nancy of DelRay Beach, Fl, along with three nephew, a niece and her lifelong friend Martha Howe Adams and close friend Donna Nickerson. A Memorial Service will be held FRI 11 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will follow in Paucatuck Cemetery. A Calling Hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Ruth’s memory to the Monastery Heights, 110 Monastery Ave., West Springfield, MA 01089
