Obituary
Sandra J. Tower, 61, passed away Sunday surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born Mar 1, 1961 to the late Patsy and Maryann (Mera) Girodano. Sandy graduated from West Springfield, Class of 1979, and received her BA in Social Work from Salem State University. She was the Director of Social Work at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. Sandy had a big heart who could never do enough for everyone. She really enjoyed the family puppies. Sandy loved working with the families and the elderly. Sandy loved traveling with her husband to Key West and Islamorada, Hampton Beach and many other places they went to. She also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends to St. Johns and Italy, vineyards and other places. Most of all, she loved her sleepovers with all the kids. They will all miss her tall tales and infectious laugh and late night talks. Sandy leaves her loving husband Paul Tower, her children; Laurie Whitney and her husband Michael, Sarah Albitz, Katelyn Tower and Robert Tower, her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held MON at 10 AM in Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd., Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, 420Kings Hwy, West Springfield. A Calling Hour will be held MON from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Sandy’s name to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Spfld, MA 01105.
