Scott Donald Zatyrka, 45, of Thompsonville Road passed away Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in the same hospital on January 4, 1978 and lived in Easthampton until the age of 7, later moving to West Springfield where he lived most of his life before settling in Suffield in 2017. He was a 1996 graduate of West Springfield High School and later attended Westfield State University. Scott worked for over 10 years as a Senior Buyer in the Dairy Department at C & S Wholesale Grocers.
Scott’s loving devotion to his family was second to none. You could count on him no matter what, no matter when. He was so kindhearted and humble as well as protective of those he loved and endlessly selfless. His humor was infectious and he added such levity to our lives with his witty banter. Throughout his entire life, Scott demonstrated such a strong work ethic with such dedication to giving his all in every work setting (and never even missing a single day of school K-12!). He had a fierce love for the Red Sox and a deep fascination with alligators (often even imagining he was a gator wrestler!). His strength of character carried him through his life to the very end.
He was the loving husband of Sandie (Sarrantonio) Zatyrka, devoted father of Sammie Zatyrka of West Palm Beach, FL and stepfather of Samuel and Jacob Evans of Suffield CT; beloved son of Diane (Colburn) and Stephen Zatyrka of Feeding Hills, caring brother of Mark Zatyrka and his wife Sasha of West Suffield, CT, and cherished uncle of Elliana and Colby Zatyrka of West Suffield. The calling hours will be Wednesday from 9-11am followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11am. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. Donations in Scott’s name may be made to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, 4520 East-West Hwy, Suite 610, Bethesda, MD 20814 or to Make-A-Wish America, 1702 E.
