Shauen M. Ryan

Shauen M. (Atkinson) Ryan, 66, of Barney Street passed away Wednesday, Feb 22nd at home. She was born in Springfield, MA on March 9, 1956 to the late Rolland and Ann (Michaud) Atkinson. Shauen was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at various facilities throughout Western MA. Shauen led life with an open heart and a strong faith for God – whether it was her family, her community, her love for gardening, everyone was touched by her kindness. She was a creative, vibrant soul with a quick wit and one-of-a-kind humor. Shauen was the loving mother of Shannon and Robbin Ryan, caring sister of Roland Atkinson, Barry Johnson, Linda Varney, Lisa Hodges, Lorrie Atkinson, Brenda Atkinson, Maryann Atkinson, Tracy Hill, and the late Debora DeMars. Shauen was the devoted grandmother of Devyn Ryan, Connor Smith, Darian and Bailey Barlow, and Ty Chavis. She was a doting great grandmother of Skylar, Greyson, and Jaelyn Ryan. Shauen also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. There will be a Funeral Home Service 5:30 pm Thursday, March 9th at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Calling hours will precede the service from 4-5:30 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
