Obituary
Shirley Clapin, 89, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Palmer Health Care. She and her late brother Charles E. Clapin were the last survivors of their family. Shirley lived in Holyoke for years with her brother and spent several years making friends and enjoying retirement at Providence Place. Shirley was she daughter of the late Anna and Charles Clapin of Holyoke. Shirley loved to travel with her good friend Marilyn. Her favorite past times included playing cards and bingo and going to the casinos. Shirley was a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Granby. Shirley was also the secretary at the church and was the assistant to Fr. John J. Shea for many years. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at noon at St. Jerome's Cemetery in Holyoke. Donations in Shirley’s name may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 256 State Street, Granby, MA 01033.
