Simone Y. (Descoteaux) Bajowski

West Springfield- Simone Y. (Descoteaux) Bajowski , 90, passed away at Mont Marie in Holyoke. She was born in Springfield to the late Celina (Bedard) and Joseph Descoteaux. Simone was a secretary at Baystate Medical Center School of Nursing for many years. She was a communicant of the former Holy Family Church in Holyoke, where she was a member of their Women�s Club. She was currently a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. Simone was a member of the West Springfield Senior Center and talented seamstress sewing costumes for their shows as well as Baptismal gowns for Holy Family Church. She was a former Town Meeting Member and volunteer at Kate�s Kitchen. Simone lived almost her entire life in West Springfield only moving to Heritage Woods two years ago. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Bajowski in 1998. She leaves her loving daughters, Mary Anne Phelan (Michael) of Southampton and Joan Reed (Jerry) of West Springfield, her grandchildren, Michael, Shaun Phelan and Megan Haryasz five great-grandchildren, her sister Claire and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Woods for making the last two years so enjoyable for Simone and the staff of Mont Marie for their compassionate care. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday 1:00PM at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral Tuesday at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld. from 11:00AM-12:30PM.
