Sophie (Bruecklmeier) Augsberger, 97, passed away at home Tuesday, September 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Munich, Germany, June 12, 1924, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Brummer) Meier. Sophie grew up in New York City and lived most of her life in West Springfield. She was a former member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was an accomplished seamstress. Years ago, she worked as a buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue. Sophie enjoyed playing cards and gardening. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother. Her beloved husband, Maximillian died in 1991. She leaves her loving sons, Roy and his partner Tricia Ahlquist of Vero Beach, FL and Carl and his wife Janis of West Springfield, her beloved grandchildren; Senta (Dan) Skala, Astraea (Stanley) Keating, Damian (Jennie) Augsberger, Nicholas (Erin Magoon) Augsberger, Stefan (Jennifer) Augsberger, Alexis (Kaleen) Augsberger, Carl Jr. (Jolene) Augsberger, Katy Augsberger and Charnae Hill, her great-grandchildren; Aleia, Thaeden, Kalli, and Rhea Skala, Theo and Nina Keating, Wolf and Maximus Augsberger, Anastasia, Grayson, Cash and Cole Augsberger, Sophia, Adelina and Anson Augsberger, Aras and Maeve Augsberger, Paige Stark and Max Augsberger and her great great-granddaughter Crystal Pashko. The calling hours will be Thursday (9/16) from 4-7 pm with a Funeral Home Service on Friday (9/17) at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
